Administering Classified Networks Early in the Mission

Aboard USS KEY WEST, Nathan carried early responsibility for classified information systems in addition to his communications and maintenance duties. He supported secure network administration, system availability, user access, and appropriate control of mission information. The work gave him an early foundation in secure networking, information assurance, and the relationship between technology operations and security governance.
